Spanish village by the sea
Colonial architecture with a characteristic red tile roof, eclectic interiors, and bougainvillea flowers ... is this Spain? No! We're still in California!
San Clemente is the most beautiful city in the southernmost part of Orange County. It is located in the Pacific Ocean, halfway between San Diego and Los Angeles. It's a sunny, seaside getaway for those tired of Southern California's "big city". It is famous for its breathtaking views of the hills above the ocean and Mediterranean climate. With perpetually sunny weather and perfect waves, San Clemente is a surfers paradise and its beaches are also perfect for swimming, bodyboarding, hiking, volleyball, whale watching, fishing, surfing, and diving.
The predominantly residential city gained nationwide publicity in 1969 when US President Richard M. Nixon bought a property there to serve as the summer White House and became the venue for many political gatherings.
